WASHINGTON. The Secretary of State Rex Tillerson condemns, reported the buildings committed against Muslims -Rochingja in Myanmar, and he says that responsible – perhaps military countries will be held accountable.
Tillerson says that the stories about the sufferings of Rohingji are “heartbreaking” – and that if these reports are true, then “someone will attract to this.”
Tillerson, who is going to visit South Asia next week, calls on the Myanmar government to improve humanitarian access to the population in the Western state of Rakhein.
Amnesty International accused the security forces of Myanmar of the murder of hundreds of men, women and children during a systematic campaign to expel Rohingji. More than 580,000 refugees fled to a neighboring Bangladesh since late August.
“We really adhere to the military leadership accountable for what is happening,” Tillerson said at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington. “What is most important to us is that the world cannot simply stand and be a witness to the atrocities reported in this area.”
He also called Wednesday for the United States and India to expand strategic ties. He demonstrated criticism of China, which he accused of contesting international norms necessary for global stability.
He said that the world needs the United States and India to have a strong partnership. Two countries share security goals, free navigation, free trade and the fight against terrorism in the Indo-Pacific region and serve as “eastern and western beacons” for international order, based on the rules, which is increasingly stressful, he said.
Both India and China benefited from this order, but Tillerson said that India did this, respecting the rules and norms, while China “sometimes” undermined them. To express his point of view, he mentioned the building of the island of China and vast territorial statements in the seas, where Beijing has long-standing disputes with the neighbors of Southeast Asia.
“China's provocative actions in the South China Sea directly challenge international law and norms that the United States and India are exhibited,” Tillerson said.
He added that the United States is looking for constructive relations with China, but they are “not retaining” from the problems that he poses when “undermines the sovereignty of neighboring countries and the shortcomings of the United States and our friends.”
In the last decade, the relations of the United States and India have flourished, partly because of their general fears about China’s growth. While President Donald Trump spoke about the deepening cooperation with China regarding the nuclear threat from North Korea, he also sought closer relations with India, which shares us concerns about Islamic extremism.
“During this period of the uncertainty and fear of India, a reliable partner in the world arena needs a reliable partner. I want to clarify: with our common values and a vision of global stability, peace and prosperity, the United States is a partner, ”said Tillerson.
Tillerson said that the United States wants to help improve the military capabilities of India, as well as improve cooperation in the field of security between large democracies of the region, including Japan and Australia.
Tillerson said that the United States and India were leading regional efforts to combat terrorism. He called on the Arkhlian Pakistan of Endia “to take decisive actions against terrorist groups based on their own borders that threaten their own people and a wider region.”
