The focus of this year's conference is democracy, with almost every official plenary session dedicated to the topic.
Invited participants include nine U.S. senators, whose bipartisan delegation will be led by Senator Jeanne Shaheen, the ranking Democrat on the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
Other invited delegates include Canada's Chief of Defense Staff General Jenny Carignan, Canadian Justice Minister Sean Fraser and the defense ministers of Sweden, the Netherlands, Latvia, Estonia and Colombia.
The conference will also feature several informal sessions and many private meetings.
