TOP MORNING

Red-Hot in RedState

Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife found dead at home with injuries consistent with stab wounds

Instead, we might remember that despite these views, he delivered some of the greatest entertainment Hollywood has produced in decades, and many people could quote The Princess Bride at will.

Just Another Day in Los Angeles: Viral Video Shows Woman Discovers Creepy Surprise in Trunk of Her Car

The sight of these driverless cars at traffic lights continues to confuse me. If I ever call, I'll definitely check the trunk.

Not one, but two high school championship football games ended in crazy, last-second fashion.

Incredible plays, young people. There is something special about high school football and to winners and losers alike I say well done gentlemen.

Trends in urban media

When seconds counted, St. Louis police were hours away

I am confident that the police prioritized the 911 call to the best of their ability given the information they had and the circumstances of the other calls for service at that time. But that doesn't change the fact that when the seconds counted, the police were hours away, and this incident is a reminder that we are our own first responders and our personal safety is ultimately our own responsibility.

They are globalizing the Intifada

Equally important, we need to fight back against the “globalization of the intifada” left here at home. They telegraph to us all that they have chosen the side of the people who decided to kill us.

Kristi Noem fired by 17 insiders and counting

The funniest thing is what happens next. Even if Trump fired Noem tomorrow, this forecast would still be considered a victory for the rumor peddlers. If it stays, the story will simply disappear, never being corrected or revisited.

Eagle, they win; tails, the audience forgets.

LAPD press conference on the death of Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle Singer turned into a complete disaster

The reason was that police had not confirmed who was found in the house. We know – the Rainer family has confirmed this. This was confirmed by Governor Gavin Newsom. What the hell is going on? What a complete disaster.

Ms Rachel's crocodile tears: She's appalled by anti-Semitism after years of fueling it

Many people who started the fire are now trying to play fireman.

Keep up with the Cabinet of Ministers

Dir. Office of Management and Budget – Russ Vought – Vought recently spoke at the Reagan National Defense Forum, where he marked The administration's most scarce resource is time:

“Political capital is not the scarcest resource. You can always build it. Time is our scarcest resource,” Vought, director of the Office of Management and Budget, said last week at the Reagan National Defense Forum. “That's why we're going all out and trying to tear down the bureaucracy where it exists.”

Vought also recently highlighted the progress the Trump administration has made in its efforts to “overthrow bureaucracy”:

MORNING REFLECTIONS

I was just collecting stories for the “Tell Me Something Good” section we run every Monday on “Tell Me Something Good.” morning showwhich turned out to be not as easy a task on Sunday night as I might have hoped. We've been bombarded with bad news over the past couple of days. And then it came news that Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle Singer were found dead in their Brentwood, California home, victims of what appears to be a gruesome murder.

We will no doubt continue to monitor and report on the investigation in the coming hours and days—there are already many. questions brought up. But I wanted to take a moment to just reflect on the work of Rob Reiner, which has brought me—along with millions of others—so much joy, laughter, and even laughing through tears over the years. Bob Hoge shared this in his initial report on this issue, but here's my initial reaction:

My top 3 favorite films:

  1. It's a wonderful life
  2. Princess Bride
  3. When Harry Met Sally

To think that Reiner – whatever political differences I had with him – suddenly left and thus… well, it just doesn't count.

This morning I woke up with these words in my head:

God, how Glenn Miller played

Songs that hit the hit parade.

Guys like us, we did it

Those were the days.

And you knew who you were then

Girls were girls and men were men,

Mister, we could use a man

Like Herbert Hoover again.

Don't need no welfare state

Everyone pulled their own weight.

Wow, our old LaSalle worked great.

Those were the days.

In the 70s, we watched a series that expressed nostalgia for the late 20s and early 30s. In 2025, we feel nostalgic for the 70s and 80s.

Will we in the 2060s look back fondly on the 2020s?
