This Vibrant Global Tribute Will Raise Critical Funds for Metastatic Breast Cancer Research

October is not only month for capricious manicure And plaidit is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month. And one day in October is particularly significant: October 13, Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day.

And one initiative has helped awareness of the day go mainstream: an annual event that shines a light on the cause—literally. For #LightUpMBCNearly 300 monuments in all 50 states and more than a dozen countries around the world are illuminated in green, pink and turquoise. Breast Cancer Awareness Ribbon Beyond Pink.

To mark the occasion, actress, singer and songwriter Gina Naomi Baez, a three-time cancer survivor, and motivational speaker Tami Eagle Bowling, living with metastatic breast cancer, will host #LightUpMBC Live, a livestream event that will raise awareness of incurable metastatic breast cancer and will raise funds for research into metastatic breast cancer.

The event will feature inspiring stories of MBC's successful people and the people who love them, as well as performances by Broadway actor Stephen Grant Douglas; Anne Hampton Callaway, Tony Award-nominated singer, songwriter, actress and breast cancer survivor; Broadway actress Mamie Parris; platinum-selling singer-songwriter Em Beichold, singer-songwriter e.woolf; Grammy Award-winning musician Bootsy Collins and his wife, performer Patti Collins; and singer-songwriter Jess Lamb.
