There's something especially satisfying about starting the new year with an update that really makes a difference in your daily life. After many years of using my traditional percussion massage guns, I switched to the Rally Orbital Massager. And one by one my friends began to follow in my footsteps and do the same. Hey, there's something reassuring about watching people you trust independently come to the same conclusion.
Why I love the Rally Orbital Massager
Don't get me wrong –my Teragun still serves me well. It has become a reliable post-workout companion, helping to relieve tension and speed up recovery. But the Rally's orbital propulsion technology immediately sets it apart from the competition. Instead of the percussive strokes found in traditional massage guns, Rally uses a circular, multi-directional approach that feels more like the hands of a seasoned massage therapist. (Or like a car buffer, as the founders described it to me during a phone call.)
I'm just more likely to choose a device that's fun to use rather than one that's painful. This is a game changer in terms of consistency. With the help of my old massage gun, I cleaned myself up before the sessions: “Do I really need this? Can I handle that kind of intensity right now?” With Rally there are no mental barriers. I can use it while watching TV, during breaks at work, or before bed without worry.
In the meantime, let me be frank: Regularly priced at $499 (and currently on sale for $399) Rally Orbital Massager not cheap. This is a significant step up in price compared to most massage guns on the market, including the Theragun. This is probably not an impulse purchase. However, it is an investment that helps me maintain an active lifestyle that I value.
What are your thoughts so far?
Bottom line
Early 2026 seems about right with this update. My Theragun will still be in my recovery arsenal – it's too useful to give up entirely – but the Rally has quickly become my favorite device. The difference in the feel of my muscles, reduction in soreness, and overall quality of recovery was worth every penny.
If you are serious about recovery and have the opportunity to make an investment, I would encourage you to at least give it a try. Judging by the conversion rate in my friend group, there's a good chance you'll be joining the rally revolution too. Here's to a year of better recovery, less pain, and smarter investments in our health.
