Elixir
What's the Halloween season without zombies and shady potions? We have already seen the disaster caused Substance as well as the virus raging in 28 years laterThat's why strange viruses and serums are more prominent than ever in horror films.
IN Elixir, we follow the aftermath of said elixir unleashing the undead in the village. There, a family at odds with each other must band together and fight to survive as their hometown collapses.
It's a horror movie in Indonesian, so world cinema buffs might want to watch it.
Casper

Okay I know it's not true scary. It's “Casper the Friendly Ghost” rather than “Casper the Really Scary Ghost,” but it's still an essential watch for the Halloween season.
If you want to take a break from stress and jumping, Casper is iconic and you should take the time to watch it this month. The plot follows a paranormal expert who is invited to exorcise ghosts from a family mansion. But when his daughter befriends the friendly ghost Casper, everything changes.
Also a fun fact Casper This is the first film to feature a completely character-driven visual effects film in the lead role.
We've always lived in a castle

Gothic horror fans will love this. We've always lived in a castleadaptation of Shirley Jackson's novel of the same name. She also wrote brilliant The Haunting of Hill Housewhich was adapted into a TV series by Mike Flanagan (also available on Netflix).
However, here we follow the aftermath of a family tragedy as sisters Merricat and Constance live a secluded life with their uncle. But when their cousin Charles arrives, he threatens to reveal a dark secret.
It's also a great choice for fans of family drama and dynamics, as there's a lot to unpack here.
Sinister 2

Ignore the 15% Rotten Tomatoes critical rating, because Sinister 2 is still a decent watch and has what many consider to be one of the most effective deterrents of all time. Honestly, it gets to me every time.
Perhaps it has too much a lot of people enjoy jump scares, but I still recommend watching this one if you're in the mood for a scare.
The sequel follows Courtney, a young mother, and her sons as they move into a haunted house and experience a series of supernatural occurrences. This will make you sleep with the light on.
Strangers

A few weeks ago I discovered hidden teaser for Strangers: Chapter 2 inside a fake travel site. It's a shame the movie didn't do very well, as it has a 14% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
However, the original Strangers released in 2008, is well worth your time and is one of my favorite home invasion horrors of all time. The film follows a couple (Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman) whose stay at their country home is interrupted by three terrifying masked intruders.
It will create the perfect creepy atmosphere, but you might not want to watch it if you're home alone.
