How much time do trainers actually spend working with Voice artists?
Celebrity coaches may not work all-nighters, but they are invested in preparing their teams for the battle rounds and beyond.
“The training takes place over four days,” Morrissey said, “and the actual combat takes two days.”
Meanwhile, she added, the degree of involvement of the coach in working with each artist “depends on the coach. Some people like the big production and like to work out all the details… Other coaches focus mainly on the music and arrangement of the performance.”
Some coaches are “avid texters, while others write emails,” Morrissey added. “All the interactions behind the scenes intensify as the artists progress through the competition and the stakes become higher.”
But it takes a village, says former contestant Hoyt. Mail“What they don't show is all the training that comes from the staff: the vocal coaches, the band director, the producers – everyone has tapes for you.”
Snoop Dogg said Access to Hollywood in September 2025: “The people behind the scenes are not getting the recognition they deserve. A lot of people moving things, making this possible… All these people here who make our job easier, all we have to do is go on stage and do what we do.”
