The best stockings for the gamer in your life
The holiday season is here and Christmas is just around the corner. Video games are an obvious gift choice for anyone who loves them, but the cost of games has been rising in recent years. Whether you're looking for last-minute gift ideas or stocking up on things for the video game lovers in your life, we've got you covered. This holiday gift guide has something for everyone under $50.
Cloth
When thinking about video game merchandise, the best place to start is with T-shirts and apparel. There are many great options. fan-gamer has a phenomenal collection of quality shirts from franchises such as Undertale, Hollow Knight and Elden Ring. Another option I used is Redbubble.com create your own t-shirts and give them to people based on the games they love.

Books/Game Guides
No holiday gift guide would be complete without some recommended reading. Amazon and most major bookstores sell game manuals and art books. fan-gamer has beautiful exclusive guides for many games. Third edition books has excellent hardcover collections of video game essays, including the excellent The Strange Work of Taro Yoko: From Drakengard to Nier Automata.

Candies
When I think of holiday gift guides, I always think of food-related treats. There aren't a lot of options for food-related video games, but there are definitely a lot of candy. Our example is below The Legend of Zelda, a jar of mints. You might be surprised to learn how many amazing varieties of tin there are. The mints will be eaten, but the jars will last forever!

Nintendo Switch 2 Carrying Case
Nintendo Switch 2 came out last year. It seems almost impossible to find an official carrying case for the Nintendo Switch 2. But there are many great options that aren't that expensive. I understood it Orzlin caseand this is the highest quality anyone will ever need. It is also widely available and frequently sold.

Stands
I'm trying to include a lot of ideas in this Holiday Gift Guide that will actually get me thinking about stocking stuffers and not just inexpensive video game related gifts. There are a lot of cool coasters out there. This Metal Gear Solid style set tempted me for a while. But a quick Google search will make you realize that there are more coaster options than you think.

Controllers
Console controllers have also increased in price in recent years, but there are some great budget options. Turtle Beach has a phenomenal collection of wired Nintendo Switch controllers. Their fun designs make them the preferred choice for many gamers who love accessories.

Keychains
Keychains are another easy idea for creating a holiday gift guide. I use this section to highlight the idea that many video game publishers sell their own products. The Square-Enix online store has a ton of expensive, high-end items. But their keychains are the same price as a lightweight stocking stuffer.

Lego
Nintendo is another publisher that has its own merchandise store on its website. And this Bowser LEGO set is proof that not all LEGO sets need to be kept under the tree. There are several budget options.
