The Sims Mobile to be sunset in January 2026

Electronic Arts has announced that The Sims Mobile will end on January 20, 2026.

As of yesterday (October 20), the game has been removed from the Apple App Store and Google Play and is no longer available for download.

Players who already have the game installed or have previously downloaded it can still update and access it.

All purchases made before the game was delisted will continue to work in the game until its closure date.

Once The Sims Mobile shuts down in January 2026, “it will no longer be playable and any remaining currency will not be refundable,” the developer said.

“The Sims Mobile and The Sims community as a whole are full of creativity, kindness and imagination,” EA said. “You have amazed us with your stories, buildings and sims. We are proud to share this journey with you.”

Earlier this year, EA announced that there would be no new content updates or events for The Sims Mobile due to eurogamer notes. The reasons for the decision to close the name were not given.

The Sims Mobile is published by EA and was originally developed by Maxis at launch in 2018. It was replaced by Firemonkeys Studios from 2019 to 2020, and by Slingshot Studio in 2020.

Firemonkeys Studio also develops The Sims FreePlay, a free version of The Sims for mobile devices.
