The Sims Mobile to be shut down by EA after more than seven years of service

  • The Sims Mobile app will be shut down after being removed from app stores.
  • However, you can still find out about some upcoming events.
  • But the service life ends in January next year.

If you're a fan of Maxis' popular life simulation series The Sims, then you've probably already heard this news. But if not, then I'm sorry to tell you that EA is closing down and delisting of The Sims Mobile spin-off for smartphones. While events will continue until the end of the service, if you haven't played yet, time has run out.

I hope no one is too upset about this. Still, if you've been checking out The Sims Mobile from time to time, you've probably found a lot of cool stuff in there, so the fact that it's now delisted and will be shutting down in January 2026 is even more disappointing.

It's no surprise that The Sims Mobile, which first released back in 2018, brought the series to smartphones. It used many of the core mechanics of the original, such as the ability to create your own Sims, design your own home, and even added multiplayer elements to allow Sims from different players to interact.

As you probably already know, The Sims Mobile also had something of a successor, recently tested in Rene project form. Designed to offer more of a “social media” style of gameplay, at first glance it would appear that the move was meant to make room for Project Rene.

I don't think it's that simple. But in the meantime, you just need to keep an eye on our sister site, The Sims Newsto see what else I think. And check out what other Sims Mobile showdowns we have.

At the same time, if you need something to fill the gap left by the demise of The Sims Mobile, there's still plenty to do. Why not dig around Jupiter's review of Spooky Express see what this train puzzle filled with monsters has to offer?
