Zoran Mamdani begins to illustrate the old saying: “A cheetah does not change its spots.”
The self-proclaimed Democratic Socialist mayor-elect of New York City has already made statements that have even some Democrats, such as former Obama administration green energy czar and current CNN anchor and commentator Van Jones, wondering how many of the 180 he has gained since the results came in on Election Day on November 4th.

There were more troubling aspects to Mamdani's victory speech
And it's not that Democratic leaders don't know what Mamdani is, as we wrote just days before the midterm elections and Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) condemned making extremists his party is the face of its future – and he does not mince words about the final stage of socialism, wherever it is realized. My colleague Nick Arama wrote about Senator Fetterman:
“We all know how socialism works,” he warned. This is a short and powerful statement. He doesn't need to elaborate. Because he's right. We know. And we don't want to go there.
Fetterman also scolded Democrats for continuing to shut down the government: “This is wrong. We hurt the very people we fight for. We won't get anything for them if we continue to shut down our government.”

First, the New York chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) is reportedly pressuring Mamdani to meet a list of “demands” now that he has ascended to Gracie Mansion, including, among other troubling left-wing items, the state government passing an anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) bill. Oddly enough, as RedState's Ward Clark wrote, these are not idle thoughts, since Zoran Mamdani has openly supported the anti-Semitic divestment movement in the past.

Here's the second one. Former mayor of Miami-Dade and current member of the House of Representatives. Carlos Gimenez (R-FL-28) is not keeping quiet about what his family witnessed as they survived the brutal communist regime. could you call yourself politically
As Jimenez wrote in a message sharing the video on his X account:
I am the only member of Congress born in Cuba.
My family was forced to leave home when the communists took over – I know extremists when I see them.
Mamdani is a Marxist and we need to fight even harder to stop this experiment of fringe Democrats in America!

“I didn’t speak a word of English when I came here, I was seven years old, and the reason I’m here is because my parents brought me here in search of freedom,” he said. “Freedom from communism, freedom from the Marxist regime. So I can tell you: I know a communist and a Marxist when I see one.”
“They may call themselves socialists, they may call themselves democratic socialists, but make no mistake: Mamdani is from New York, he is a Marxist,” he said.
Rep. Jimenez explained that it bothers him that future Mayor Mamdani claims to be “proud” of who he is without declaring his obvious Marxist affiliation. But the congressman says he knows the obvious reason:
He could not and cannot, because he knew that he would not be elected.
That's who we should listen to. We must be vigilant and warn those who may not be aware of this deceptive ploy of the left. The dangers of Marxism, as our late happy warrior Andrew Breitbart warned many times, are not to be taken lightly. Fortunately, a far-left radical like this was not elected as mayor of another major US city, Minneapolis, on Tuesday.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis recently said he had heard from others who fled the Castro regime that Mamdani's statement sounded familiar:
