Imagine you've been on television since you were old nine months and further – and in a popular sitcom that ran for quite a long time, no less. I'm guessing you won't like it too much after a while!
Looks like the same thing happened to Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsenwho you know from her eight-season stint as Michelle Tanner on the beloved '90s TV sitcom. Full house – which ended when the twins were only nine years old.
So, during a recent episode of their podcast. How rude, Tanneritosformer comrade Full house stars Jodie Sweetin And Andrea Barber responded to a fan question that went something like this: “Has there ever been a time when directors would rather work with one twin over the other and give them more time on set? Can they fire one and keep the other in that situation? How does that work with twins? Especially when they get older and you don't have to turn off the crying babies.”
“That's a really good question,” Jodi said. “And I would say, yes, there was a point where they preferred to work with one rather than the other.”
Jodie also claimed that this preference was actually just “in the beginning” when one of the Olsen twins didn't enjoy being on set as much as the other. Drum roll please…
This was Mary-Kate, who was still a child, and who was not as good-natured on set as Ashley, who was also just a child.
“Mary-Kate didn't like being on set, but Ashley said, 'It's cool how it is.' She was much more… obedient in that regard,” Jodie said.
“They absolutely are. Ashley will say, “Sure, oh well.” Mary-Kate said, “I don't want to do this.”
Andrea added that there are certain reasons why one of the Olsen twins might film a scene instead of the other: “One would want to do a certain scene because it was more fun for them, and the other didn't care,” she explained.
But according to Jodie, there was one type of scene the twins both wanted to film: scenes where they eat candy. “That was the only thing they said: ‘This isn’t fair,’” she recalls. “They couldn't let one twin eat more sweets than the other, otherwise the girls would rebel.”
