The King Is Watching Gets Biggest Free Content Update Since Release July launchbringing a new level of challenge and variety to the roguelite kingdom builder. Known as the Vulcan Update, this expansion introduces new environments to explore, more enemies to confront, and several new tools to shape your strategy. For a limited period, the game is also available at a reduced price on Steam until December 16th.
This update centers around a map of Vulcan, a new fiery region associated with Inferno. This area adds a system built around the worship meter, encouraging players to earn powerful rewards related to demonic influence. The map includes nine demon-themed units that expand your tactical options and support different playstyles.
The dangers in this region grow with your choices. The Vulcan map features its own roster of enemies, including Scarlet Goblins and Lava Creatures. These enemies are led by six new bosses who test the strength of your kingdom and create challenging battles that push your buildings in new directions.
The update adds twenty narrative events created specifically for the Vulcan setting. These scenarios offer little stories, choices, and bonuses that help shape each run clearly. Seventeen new artifacts also join the pool, giving players additional options to create powerful combinations.
In addition to new environments and items, the game includes four new advisors. Some existing advisors have also been improved to offer clearer roles and more interesting effects. To complete the update, four new troop types have been added to the overall roster, adding additional depth to the formations on each map.
The Vulcan update expands on almost every part of The King Is Watching, creating a richer experience for both new and returning players.
