What's next for this gripping thriller? Here's everything we know about Hunting wives Season 2 confirmed cast, predicted release date, plot rumors, news and more.
“Hunting Wives” season 2: is there a release date?
Hold on to your wigs Hunting wives is officially back in production for a second season, as confirmed by none other than Margot, aka Malin Akerman, in an official Instagram post in November 2025.
The production news follows the show's quick renewal less than two months after it premiered on Netflix. So, this day was inevitable, but now we can make preliminary assumptions about the release date.
While there hasn't been any official news, it's a bit of a guessing game, but considering the first season reportedly took about 5 months to film and came out a year later, I'd predict we'll be looking at late 2026/early 2027.
“Hunting Wives” season 2: has the trailer been released?
Given that Hunting wives Production on the second season only began in November, and the release of the official trailer is still a long way off.
As with most Netflix shows, the trailer will be released about a month or so before the show premieres, so I don't expect it anytime soon. But once it finally arrives, I'll be sure to update it here.
“Hunting Wives” season 2: cast confirmed
While we don't have much to say about the release date or trailer, we do know that the following actors will be returning for the film: Hunting wives Season 2, thank you Tumdu:
- Brittany Snow as Sophie
- Malin Akerman as Margot
- Dermot Mulroney as Jed Banks
- Jamie Ray Newman as Callie
- Evan Jonigkate as Graham
- George Ferrier as Brad
- Karen Rodriguez as Salazar's deputy
- Hunter Emery as Deputy Flynn
- Branton Box as Sheriff Johnny
Number of bodies Hunting wives the first season was great. A total of four met their end, and here's fair warning: Now you need to look away if you don't know who these four people are.
It's no surprise that we're guessing the following characters won't be returning, considering they were killed off in the first season, and they are Abby (Madison Wolfe), Abby Starr's (Chrissy Metz) mother, Jill (Katie Laws), and Margot's brother, Kyle (Michael Aaron Milligan).
But here's what's interesting: in the Instagram post about the second season renewal (shown above under the release date), the images feature Katie Laws. So, whether her character will have a flashback or a mysterious return, we will have to wait and see.
“Hunting Wives” season 2: short plot and rumors
Full spoilers for Hunting wives Season 1.
After a lot of drama (and death) in the Season 1 finale, Season 2 has a lot to tie up, from illicit affairs to full-scale murder, but luckily, the plan seems to be to do just that.
Thanks to Tudum, we know that the next part will be a continuation of the storyline based on the original script, with the official logline: “Sophie and Margot are out. But soon enough, old secrets and new enemies force them back together. When they play their dangerous games, the question arises: who are they – hunters or hunted?
Discussing her hopes for season two, Brittany Snow said: Glamor: “I would have loved for Sophie to have had a little more guidance and not be so easily manipulated, because once you find out your girlfriend has been killed, I think things change a little quickly.
“But it really puts Sophie and Margot on equal footing in a lot of ways, which I'm really interested in exploring because now Sophie is a killer too. I'll be interested to see how this dynamic plays out and I hope she doesn't forgive Margot and it will take a lot more to get them back together.”
Sophie and Margot's volatile relationship was the core of the story, but with plenty of body bags and no afterlife resolution for any of the victims, there's still a lot to unravel.
And talking to Diversity Back in July 2025, before the second season was officially renewed, showrunner Rebecca Cutter shared some of her plans: “I think we'll do a little time jump. – not a year, but a time. By the end of filming, I realized that the two engines of the show were the detective story and the relationship between Margot and Sophie, and tracking how those lines intersect with each other.”
She also added, “I think it would be smart to introduce a new murder mystery. But this is only the initial stage. I don’t know who it is or who’s finished yet!”
With cameras now rolling on Season 2, the detective team and who's done should be set and ready to go, and while May Cobb's book of the same name was the basis for Season 1, the series has made some big changes from the start. So it will be interesting to see where things go next.
Will there be more seasons of The Hunting Wives?
It's hard to say now. WITH Hunting wives Season two won't go into production until November 2025, and with no confirmed release date on the horizon, talk of a third season appears to be on hold.
However, as always, we'll keep our ears open and keep an eye out for any telltale signs and update you here if we spot anything. information.
