Stranger Things may have wrapped up its five-season run, but the franchise is far from over as new projects are currently in development. While the game Stranger Things: The First Shadow continues his performance on stage, tease the Duffer brothers spin-off with a completely new group of charactersas well as a secret project that they are not yet ready to talk about.
“It’s just one step at a time,” Matt Duffer said. electronic warfare when asked about the future of Stranger Things, which also includes an upcoming animated series Stranger Things: Stories from '85. “At this point, everything you said is all we have planned… Well, there is one more thing I can't talk about, so I just kind of lied to you, that's pretty cool too. But the main focus now is on live-action spin-offs.”
“I wish I could talk more about it,” he continued, “but we have a specific idea or philosophy about how the show and the Stranger Things universe, if you want to call it that, can continue. I would say it's very different from something like Game of Thrones or Star Wars because that's just not who we are.”
“And we're very proud of Tales from '85 and the play, but it fills in the last remaining little holes in the narrative that we were telling on Stranger Things,” Ross Duffer added. “So to be able to move forward, we have to create a new mythology, because otherwise we'll just keep finding these little bottlenecks and it will become narrower and narrower and more forced. So the goal is to open it wide and do something completely new and completely different.”
Matt Duffer continued by saying that it was “exciting” to create “new characters and a new mythology” but that most details are being kept under wraps for now. “I can’t wait to talk more about it when I’m allowed, but Netflix PR is listening,” he joked.
However, we do know a few things about the spin-off.
