offerEscape from Hell in the game The Devil's Due
Norwegian studio Games People Play has released the first public demo of The Devil's Due, its roguelike poker roguelike, which is now available on Steam. The premiere of a new gameplay trailer also took place during OTK Games Expogiving players a clear understanding of the game's chaotic poker battles and its playful look at hell.
The demo introduces the first two levels of the underground world. It gives you the opportunity to test early cheats, trinkets, and combat features in the game. After losing his soul in a disastrous poker match with the Devil, escaping means outmaneuvering the monsters created by the Seven Deadly Sins. You build hands to attack, use card values to defend, and change the rules in each duel.
Deception is critical to survival. Players can sneak into hidden cards, boost values, sabotage their opponent's hands, and perform tricks to change the course of each battle. The challenge is to try your luck without raising too much suspicion that Hell will strike back. Between meetings in the demo version, stores appear ready for fraud. Some shrines offer unholy upgrades. Brave players can also take part in mini-games and get amazing opportunities. Designer Jack Kristoffersen describes the game as poker, complete with an array of absurd cheating tools that encourage hands that no casino would ever allow.
Featuring Monty Python-style animations, a tactile interface, and a constant stream of new relics and cheats, The Devil's Due offers a light-hearted, mischievous approach to roguelike strategy. The first public demo is a confident introduction to the combination of poker, risk and fiendish creativity in the game. So, dive right into it to witness what awaits deeper in Hell.
