The Daily Caller’s Reagan Reese Joins Steve Bannon As Establishment Republicans Sabotage Trump Redistricting Efforts

The Daily Caller's Reagan Reese joined Steve Bannon in the War Room to soften the fallout from Indiana Republicans killing a redistricting plan backed by President Donald Trump.

Reese told Bannon War room that Trump and his allies are “rightfully very angry” after 21 Republicans in the state Senate voted with Democrats on Thursday to defeat the effort.

“There were a number of establishment-type people in this Indiana Senate who wanted to go the other way, who wanted to stab the president in the back,” Reese said.

She said Trump adviser Alex Bruesewitz spent weeks vetting all 21 Republican senators in the primaries. Turning Point USA Action has begun hiring staff for field work in Indiana, and Heritage Action and the Club for Growth have also pledged to support the top contenders. A source close to the White House told Reese that the response would be harsh. “Metaphorically speaking, this ends with heads on pikes,” the source said.

Bannon created Indiana the loss as a potential signal that establishment Republicans see “the end of the MAGA movement” and are “ready to move on.”

Reese agreed that the White House will face increasing pressure ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. She noted some Trump Supporters say the president is focusing too much on foreign policy rather than domestic issues.

“I think it would probably be wise for the White House to send a signal now and get ahead of it while they still can,” Reese said.

Brusewitz told Daily call that Indiana Senate President Pro Tempore Rodrick Bray and Sen. Greg Good top his list of top targets. Trump called out Bray by name on Truth Social, writing that he would “absolutely support anyone who wants to go against him.”
