After The main teaser from series creator Eric KripkeSony Pictures Virtual Reality and developer Arvore have announced a new video game, The Boys. The Boys: Trigger Warning will be released in 2026 on Meta Quest and PlayStation VR 2.
Pre-orders are now open at a promotional price of $24 from Meta Quest store window. PSVR 2 is not available to pre-order yet, but you can wishlist it on the website PlayStation Store.
Trigger Warning is a virtual reality stealth game in which players take on the role of a new, original character who “uncovers Vought's grotesque secret that turns a family outing into a massacre.”
Players become superheroes, or Supes in The Boys parlance, and join The Boys as they infiltrate Vought and seek revenge “in the most chaotic way possible.”
“Combining stealth and combat with the franchise's signature dark humor, the VR game delivers a new story based on a fan-favorite world,” the series description reads.
Developers Arvore worked with the show's writers and actors and aimed to capture the “edgy, humor and brutality” of the flagship TV show.
Before this, Kripke said that there was “desire, but no firm plans for a console game” for The Boys on Xbox and PlayStation. However, he mentioned the existence of “other types of video games”, and this is likely a reference to Trigger Warning.
Characters from The Boys have appeared in games like Call of Duty and Mortal Kombat, but there hasn't been a dedicated game for the series on consoles yet.
A comic book-based series, The Boys, for Prime Video, which spawned a spin-off series, Generation V, as well as a spin-off, The Boys: Mexico, is also in development. There is also an upcoming prequel series, Vought Rising, set in the 1950s.
As for the main series, The Boys will return for a fifth and final season in April 2026 on Prime Video. You can watch the new trailer above.
