Hades 2
Available on PC, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
While Hades II may have first released in Early Access on PC, its full version only made the transition to one other system: the Nintendo Switch. But even if Hades II were available on PlayStation and Xbox, let's be honest, it's just feels right on the control panel. This is largely due to the roguelike nature of Hades II, which lends itself well to shorter periods of play and makes it a great choice for commuters or those on the go. However, I can personally attest that this is a fantastic binge game in bed.
However, to be clear, Hades II is a fantastic game no matter where you play it. Hades II, the sequel to 2019's Hades, marks the next installment in Supergiant Games' epic reconstruction of Greek mythology. While his predecessor followed Zagreus—the son of Hades and Persephone and prince of the underworld—Hades II follows his younger sister Melinoe, a young witch who was tragically torn from her family as a child. After extensive training under the supervision of Hecate, Melinoe sets out on a journey to defeat the Titan Chronos, reunite with the family she has never known, and restore peace to both the Underworld and Mount Olympus.
Along the way, Greek gods and mythological figures will decide to either help or hunt Melinoe, who remains tireless and steadfast in her quest despite many, many, many since she will eventually have to return to the Crossroads and resume her mission. All this, combined with stylish graphics, exciting music, a variety of charming and well-acted characters and addictive gameplay, makes Hades II a must-play game. — Jessica Cogswell
