It's time to ditch your bike and go electric! Just a few years ago, you couldn't find an electric bike under $1,000. While there are still many premium brands that still sell e-bikes at prices well above this threshold, this is no longer an accurate statement.
By Black Friday, several e-bikes had dropped to extremely low prices, some well under $500. Chinese brands offer excellent value for money as long as you don't pay a premium for one of their entry-level e-bikes. This is why it's better to buy directly from the manufacturer on AliExpress rather than through Amazon or a personal website where they'll just charge you more money to make up for all the marketing fees and other crap.
The deals below stand out for the following reasons: 1) they are much cheaper than buying the exact same bike on Amazon, 2) they are all shipped from a local US warehouse so you don't have to worry about tariffs or shipping delays, and 3) they are sold by trusted suppliers with plenty of reviews and sales to back them up.
Amyet V9-G60 1000W Electric Bike for $420
The Amyet V9-G60 boasts a 1000W brushless motor (1500W peak power) that can reach speeds of up to 52mph. The 48V, 20Ah (960Wh) battery can last up to 70 miles on a single charge (actual distance depends on other factors such as your speed, terrain, altitude, etc.). Other features include a lightweight aluminum frame, Shimano components for the 7-speed gearbox, dual suspension and 20-inch wheels with 4-inch fat tires for a more comfortable ride. The bike comes 90% pre-assembled and comes with a one-year warranty. It's also very mod-friendly should you want to make your own upgrades.
Luceep X1 Lite 750W Electric Bike for $435
The X1 Lite's 750W brushless motor (1500W peak) can reach a top speed of around 48mph. The 48V, 15Ah (720Wh) battery can travel up to 50 miles on a single charge. Like the Amyet V9-G60, it also features a lightweight aluminum frame, a 7-speed Shimano gearbox, and 20-inch wheels with 4-inch fat tires. It comes with a 12-month warranty. The special feature of this bike is that it can be folded in half, with the wheels located next to each other. This design makes it much easier to fit into a small space. Ensuring that the frame maintains its rigidity requires a bit of engineering wizardry, so this feature is not often found on entry-level bikes.
UrLife E20 Lite 750W Electric Bike for $276
The UrLife E20 Lite is the cheapest e-bike in this review and also the lightest. While the Luceep X1 Lite weighs 70 pounds and the Amyet V9-G60 tops the charts at 77 pounds, the E20 Lite weighs a modest 60 pounds. It also features a 750W brushless motor with 1000W peak power, so top speed is limited to a still respectable 20mph. The 48V 13Ah (624Wh) battery, although the smallest capacity battery in this review, has the best range of up to 80 miles, most likely due to the lighter weight and less power-hungry motor.
HeyBike has an office here in the US, but is actually a Chinese brand similar to the others listed above.

Both scooters weigh around 34 pounds (the LP60 is slightly lighter due to the smaller battery) and can be folded for easy transport and storage. They feature standard 8.5-inch maintenance-free honeycomb tires that are suitable for smooth, paved surfaces.
