Whether we like it or not, money plays a huge role in politics, and with the obvious exception of Kamala Harris, whose side has more money can often determine who wins the next election. So the GOP can thank Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) for his quixotic shutdown that brings nothing but more money for the Grand Old Party.
And this exactly what's happening as we enter the third week of the Sumerian shutdown:
The House Republican campaign says it raised nearly $24 million between July and September of this year.
More than half of that amount — about $13.95 million — came in September, as Republicans were preparing for a political battle over federal funding.
This struggle continues to this day, already more than half of October. the government was closed within 20 days as Republicans and Democrats are still at odds over federal spending.
I'd take issue with Fox News's take on this: “Republicans and Democrats still disagree on federal spending.” No, that's not true. Democrats support a simple and clean continuing resolution; Republicans agree to this – and open the government – in droves.
In any case, the numbers are huge:
National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) revenue of $13.95 million represented its best September of the year without an election and was a 50% increase from the previous comparable September 2023.

The liberal media just made a big admission about shutting down Schumer – Democrats won't like it
No wonder Democrats are failing; their junior high theater performances in their stupid “No Kings” protests over the weekend exposed them for the completely unserious people they are. Of course, it's been 249 years since we were last ruled by a king, so even the “reason” for the demonstrations was futile. As RedState's Brad Slager wrotethe protesters convinced us all that they were, for the most part, complete buffoons:
What else are we supposed to do with the assembled weirdos singing insipid protest anthems or make a dance line with choreography on the level of “Sweating To The Oldies”? Does anyone who insists they're challenging authority and bringing it to Trump ever take a step back and ask how much influence your tambourine ensemble has on them? AND crowd animal cosplay defy explanation.
Remember, they shut down the government because of this:
Speaker Mike Johnson DESTROYED Democrats' insane list of demands to end the government shutdown, which includes:
-Half a billion to liberal news outlets
-$24.6 million for climate resilience in Honduras
– $13.4 million for civic engagement in Zimbabwe
– $3.9 million for LGBTQI+ democracy… pic.twitter.com/c1Jzweo6TS— TikTok Libraries (@libsoftikt) October 14, 2025
-$3.9 million for grants for LGBTQI+ democracy in the Western Balkans
-$2.9 million to reduce desert locust risk in Africa
– $2 million to organize feminist democratic principles in Africa.THIS is what the Democrats are holding the American people hostage over. Unreal.
It's no wonder people donate to the Republican Party.
Editor's note: Schumer's completion is here. Instead of putting the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced the government to shut down health care to illegal immigrants. They own it.
