Year two begins with a test drive of the Unlimited Solar Crown
KT Racing and NACON have unveiled the fifth season of Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, kicking off the second year with a major free update filled with fresh content and technical updates. Season 5 brings back some fan-favorite features, introduces new ways to play, and improves the overall experience across all platforms.
One of the most exciting additions is the return of Taxi Missions, a classic mode beloved by longtime fans. Players can now ferry passengers around the island while racing against time while maintaining smooth, stylish driving while earning Sun Coins. Meanwhile, the glamorous casino becomes even more attractive with poker tables where players can test their luck and strategy to win exclusive rewards, including a unique car and special cosmetics for both avatars and vehicles.
Under the hood, the KT Engine game engine has received a major update on consoles and PC. Enhanced graphics deliver sharper details, richer shadows, and improved shaders, giving the world of Solar Crown a more vibrant, realistic look. This update reflects nearly a year of development, and more performance improvements are planned for future updates, especially frame rate increases.
Season 5 also rebalances the in-game economy, offering players more ways to earn Sun Coins through racing. The FRIM system, which rewards skilled trick chainers, now awards reputation points and Solar Pass XP with unlimited prizes that can be redeemed. A new vehicle resale feature has also been introduced, allowing vehicles to be sold based on mileage, upgrades and installed options.
