All this time there really could have been some invisible line between Taylor Swift and her fiancé Travis Kelsey.
Premiere of her “Eras Tour” occurred on March 17, 2023 in Arizona.but as Swift's new docuseries End of an Era reveals, the physical preparation for it began six months before her rehearsals.
So Swift can hopefully be forgiven for what she wore on the first day of rehearsal.
Based on footage from the first episode of “End of an Era,” Swift arrived at her first tour rehearsal wearing a gray Philadelphia Eagles sweatshirt.
The Eagles are one of the famous rivals of the Kansas City Chiefs in recent sports history, having met in the Super Bowl in 2023 and again in 2025.
Swift and Kelsey, who are close to the Kansas City Chiefs, have been dating since at least September 2023, when she showed up at Arrowhead Stadium for a game against the Chicago Bears.
But the Eras Tour – and all the preparation for it – happened much earlier than their relationship. (In fact, Kelsey's participation in the Eras Tour in July 2023 led to their meeting in the first place after missing friendship bracelet connection.)
Before she started dating Kelsey, Pennsylvania-born Swift previously hinted at her love for the Philadelphia team. In her 2020 song “Gold Rush,” she briefly sings about her “eagle T-shirt hanging on the door.” Then, amid speculation that the lyrics could refer to the “Hotel California” crew or group, Swift said on stage in Philadelphia in May 2023: “Guys, come on. I'm from Philadelphia. Of course it's a team.”
In the documentary series, Swift is seen wearing an Eagles sweatshirt in several clips from that rehearsal.
When she arrived at the rehearsal site, she already had tears in her eyes. Shaking the hand of one of her fellow performers, she said: “I'm weirdly emotional right now. So nice to meet you, I'm Taylor.”
“I’ve never seen a boss come into rehearsal crying with happiness and passion for his work,” dancer Wiley Yoshimura said of the moment.
The “Eras Tour” kicked off just weeks after her then-boyfriend The Eagles lost to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl.. This match made headlines as the first Super Bowl in which see two brothers — you guessed it, Travis and his brother Jason Kelce — are fighting on opposing teams.
Unfortunately for Philadelphia fans, by the 2025 Super Bowl, when the Eagles got their revenge and defeated Chiefs 40-22Swift has already switched allegiances, proudly supporting Travis Kelce.
As for football, she has since said, “All season long I'm focused on what that person does on the field.”
Jason Kelce, Travis Kelce's brother and former Philadelphia Eagles center, has not yet commented on the sweatshirt's appearance.
