Say hello to your new Rapunzel and Flynn Rider.
Disney has announced that it has found the lead stars for the live-action version of Tangled. Australian actor Teagan Croft let her hair down for the role of Rapunzel, and the role of the brave thief Eugene Fitzherbert, also known as Flynn Rider, went to Zombies star Milo Manheim.
“Teagan Croft and Milo Manheim are Rapunzel and Flynn Rider in the Disney adaptation of Tangled,” Disney wrote on its Facebook page. Instagram January 7. “I only come to the theaters.”
Manheim shared the news on his Instagram and historyadding: “Too grateful for words. I'll do him justice, I promise.”
Croft is known for his roles in the films Titans, True Spirit, Osiris Child and Alphas. In addition to the Disney Channel's Zombies franchise, Manheim has appeared in Thanksgiving, Journey to Bethlehem and Platonic. He finished second on season 27 of Dancing with the Stars.
The upcoming live-action version will be directed by Michael Gracey, known for his work on The Greatest Showman.
In 2010, the animated film Tangled was released with Mandy Moore as Rapunzel and Zachary Levi as Flynn Rider. Donna Murphy voiced Mother Gothel.
Additional cast members have yet to be announced, but many fans are eagerly waiting to see who the film's antagonist will be.
A live-action version of Tangled has been in development for years, and last month there were reports that actors were auditioning for the lead roles. Hollywood Reporter.
