Some great news for Tales of Series
Remaster Tales of Xilia 2 is currently in development and fans are eagerly awaiting further announcements from the series. In a recent interview with Weekly Famitsu, series producer Yusuke Tomizawa shared his thoughts on the future of the Tales of franchise, hinting that the next updated game will be revealed relatively soon.
Tomizawa explained that there are many projects underway, involving collaborations with several partner development studios. He highlighted that the team manages projects at various stages, from initial review to late development, and has more than two games in development. The release schedule will depend on the progress of planning and development, but the goal remains to provide fans with as many games as possible as efficiently as possible.
As for Tales of Xillia 2, Tomizawa confirmed that the remaster is following the stated approach and releasing what is ready quickly. The team will share updates as soon as possible while the project is still under development. He didn't give specific details about the next remaster of the game, but indicated that they expect to announce it in the near future.
Since the release of Tales of Arise in 2021, which later received a post-game expansion Beyond the Dawn in 2023, there hasn't been a new game in the series. Tomizawa assured fans that the development team continues to plan and consider new games, as well as initiatives such as real-life events, merchandise, and other promotions. Beyond the 30th anniversary, the team is committed to creating ongoing opportunities for players to interact with Character Narratives and stories across a variety of media.
Tales of Xillia Remastered will be released on October 31 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. It promises to provide an updated experience for longtime fans and newcomers alike.
