FromSoftware has postponed the release of the long-awaited Nintendo Switch 2 port Elden Ring to “give time for performance adjustments.”
In a brief statement, the developer apologized for the delay but said it was “sincere.” [working] for release,” which is now expected sometime in 2026. Unfortunately, a more precise release date is not provided.
A port of Elden Ring for Switch 2, Tarnished Edition, was announced at a Nintendo Direct presentation back in April.. It is planned to include the base game and its Shadow of Airdtree DLC, as well as new armor and a new feature for customizing the appearance of Torrent.

FromSoft didn't give an exact release date for the Switch 2 Tarnished Edition in 2025, but it was originally expected to release before the end of the year.
“We apologize to the players who were looking forward to the game and thank you for your patience and support,” the team said.
As for FromSoftware's Elden Ring spin-off, Elden Ring Nighttrain? The new mode “Dead of Night” is now availableadding additional complexity to the multiplayer side game. The world of Limveld will be filled with deadly enemies and the Night Lords will not be selectable like in the main game, but instead players will be able to travel through multiple depths with increasing difficulty and challenges.
