Well, what do you know, Diablo 4 is getting the long-awaited Paladin class, which in itself isn't the most surprising news. What's really surprising, however, is that the Paladin class is playable in Diablo 4 tonight, a few months before the game's next big expansion, Diablo's Lord of Hatred, which releases on April 28th.
Blizzard announced the Lord of Hatred expansion for Diablo 4 ahead Gaming Awards 2025and then fully disclosed the details in a press release. The expansion will bring the saga of the Age of Hatred game to life, add a new region of Skovos to the map, rework the skill trees, give players fishing rods and, most importantly, add two new classes: Paladin and a second one that has not yet been revealed.
The big surprise for me is that if you pre-purchase the Lord of Hatred expansion right now, you'll immediately gain access to the new Paladin class so you can channel holy light to gain access to demon melting abilities like Blessed Hammer, Auras, Zeal, and Celestial Fury.
Blizzard reached out to PC gamer The video reveals that Diablo 4's Paladin is essentially a hybrid of Diablo 2's Paladin and Diablo 3's Crusader, giving players the ability to choose between oaths to determine which of four different fighting styles they will use.
There's Juggernaut, who has complex defensive moves that double as attacks; Zealot, which uses automatically repeating strikes; The Judge with his explosives, which he can use to mark enemies; and the Apprentice, who can transform into another angelic form with unique abilities. All this good stuff is available when you pre-order Lord of Hatred now.
