- Suno's new free music model v4.5-All offers significantly improved speed, sound and vocal quality.
- v4.5-All allows everyday users to create professional-grade music without the need for a subscription.
- The move comes as competition among AI-powered musical instrument makers sharply intensifies.
Suno's latest move into the AI music race opens the door to a version of the company's most powerful model for everyone. The company has replaced Suno v3.5 in the free tier with the much faster and more advanced version v4.5-All.
Suno v4.5-All – a slightly less powerful option Sun 4.5 model released earlier this year. Like its brother, v4.5-all can create a full song with lyrics, vocals, instruments and post-production work.
However, while Suno's paid tiers have always offered better performance, the recently released v4.5-All closes that gap, bringing one of the most complex models to the free tier. This is a major shift not only in quality, but also in access.
The new general availability version of the model is optimized for efficiency while still being able to produce professional songs across a variety of genres and vocal types. Suno claims it handles pitch changes better, understands cues more fully, and still composes a song faster than version 3.5 ever could.
In other words, it makes fewer mistakes, finishes faster, and delivers something you'll actually want to share without having to pay.
The improvements over version 3.5 are clear and obvious. Whereas earlier free versions sometimes had problems with genre fidelity or struggled with vocals, v4.5-All brings a new level of musical nuance. Clues now create tracks with smoother transitions, clearer structure and emotion.

Of course, there are still limitations and obstacles in version 4.5-All. Just because it's more expressive than its predecessor doesn't mean it won't stumble when it comes to things like the coherence of long-form lyrics, digitally flat sounds, or singing that sounds synthetic. But for most users, these shortcomings are easy to forgive.
All of this comes at an interesting moment for the AI music space. All of YouTube for Google Music SandboxAnd maybe even OpenAI, seeks to penetrate this space, despite complaints about flooding mislabeled AI songs, some are falsely advertised as being made real people.
But most AI music creators still keep their high-end tools behind a paywall, limiting what users can actually do without a financial commitment. Suno's decision to increase its free tier could put pressure on competitors to open their doors a little wider. It also risks undermining its own subscription model, unless the upcoming Version 5 the company is talking about is an even bigger leap that justifies the price. Additionally, Suno and other AI music platforms are under industry scrutiny and legal battles.
By giving people tools that actually sound good, even at the free tier, Suno is betting that what the world really needs right now isn't more content, but more people confident enough to create it. Ultimately, this is a signpost for future artificial intelligence tools that offer enough power and precise control to create all kinds of media that match what's in people's heads, even if it may violate copyright laws.
