As we near the end Chapter 6 Season 4 from Fortnitethis is the perfect time to reflect on how great the game is now and how much better it will become. There are a number of reasons for this, culminating in the fact that the game is more fun to play than ever. The most important factor, besides the fact that everything is working well in the game right now, is that we are in the midst of a storm of new (and very good) content.
Right now we're nearing the end of a great season with amazing gameplay elements and weapons, a loaded Battle Pass, and a special Halloween event filled with cool cosmetics. And with what's planned for next season, many players' jaws, including mine, are already on the floor.
The current season – Chapter 6 of Season 4 of “Shock 'N Awesome” – is dedicated to Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. For millennials, this is the best option when it comes to adapting something they loved from childhood. This series absolutely dominated pop culture in the early 90s.
Luckily, developer Epic Games understood the task with an excellent battle pass, including two skins for everyone Really Wanted – Green and White Rangers. The store sells skins for the rest of the Rangers, including Lord Zedd, ranging in price from 1,500 V-Bucks for a single skin to 3,600 for the Power Rangers Bundle, which includes five base Rangers, emotes, pickaxes, and more. The characters from this season also caused the final kaiju battle event in the game. As with previous Godzilla and Star Destroyer events, you can pilot the Megazord, making its way across the landscape. However, this is Power Rangers, so of course you also had to contend with a big, major bug.
Even the parts of the season that started out uneven due to the new weapons being poorly balanced (the Swarmstrike missile launcher and the Blade Blaster pistol) were quickly smoothed out, leaving us with a great and well-balanced season. Fortnite – and this to the spooky season has begun.
We're currently in the midst of the annual Fortnitemares event, which ends this weekend. This is perhaps the strongest selection of horror cosmetics. Fortnite already offered, with new additions including Art the Clown (Horror), Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th), Wednesday Addams (Wednesday), Ghostface (Scream), Huggy Waggy (Poppy play time), Grabber (Black phone 2), Half-Bots (REPO), and the whole Scooby-Doo gang. These are 12 new skins based on popular characters exclusively for Fortnitemares, as well as some creepy skins. Fortnite originals. Oh, and Doja Cat. We can't forget Doja Cat.
FortniteThe Halloween celebration also added something to consider when competing for the best special weapons of all time. Last Call turns players into Ghostface, giving them a knife and a cell phone that lights up nearby enemies when triggered. From there, you can stalk your prey with more stamina and increased running speed, then dice them like we've all seen Ghostface do many times – complete with knife-slashing sounds taken straight from the movies. (Using this weapon against NPC boss Jason Voorhees in Spooky Camps is a lot of fun, although I died doing it more than once too.)
Last Call is balanced almost perfectly. It does good damage, but slows you down a bit during your jump attack. And there's not much of him on the map, so you'll usually have to hunt to track him down.
We also got a new standard weapon this season: the Wrecker's Revolver. It's essentially a shotgun in the form of a one-handed revolver that proved to be too powerful when it debuted. Thankfully, Epic has nerfed this weapon, although it is still one of the best in the game. What you end up with is a portable version of the Frenzy Auto Shotgun, which does slightly less damage but has better aim and range. It's also absurdly fun to use, running around the map and shooting people near and far.
I have invested over 1200 hours into Fortnitewhich doesn't seem like enough, but also too much, and I can confidently say that this is the most fun I've had with the game since I started playing Chapter 2 in 2019. And from now on, things only get better, thanks to the upcoming appearance of The Simpsons.
I can't think of another piece of real estate that touches so many generations. The show is currently in its 37th season. The Simpsons has been broadcast continuously on television since 1989. This gives him a lot of content to carry. Fortnite, and judging by the leaks we've seen so far, there will be plenty of them.
A leaked loading screen for the upcoming month-long season shows potential skins for Marge, Homer, Krusty the Clown, Moe, Bart and Lisa in robot suits, Scratchy the cat and a couple Fortnite originals in The Simpsons artistic style. While some of these skins will likely be in the store rather than attached to the Battle Pass, this is the best lineup I've seen for a season in a long time. Chapter 5, Season 4 – “Absolute Doom” is the last time I remember lusting after multiple skins from a single season, but even those Marvel-centric additions paled in comparison to what's on The Simpsons.
However, the skins won't be the highlight of the season. The map is the biggest plus. If leaks are to be believed, the entire Chapter 6 map will be removed to make way for a brand new map of Springfield, USA, home of the Simpson family. Again, thanks to leaks, it looks like the map will likely consist of several landmarks from the series, including the nuclear power plant, Springfield Gorge, the Simpsons' house, Moe's Bar, and more.
If you're a fan of the show, this is a dream come true. If not, it at least looks like we'll be getting a fully shaded map, which will create a unique feel for the game. And if you don’t like the changes made, then the season will end when December comes, and then it’s time for vacations. Fortnitewhich always means free cosmetics for players.
We truly live in a golden age Fortniteoccupying a middle ground where what came before was great, what's happening now is better, and what comes next has the potential to wipe out everything else. And after all this, Fortnite Santa comes to town and showers us with gifts.
So if you've never played Fortnite or you have moved away from it at some point, I implore you to check it out now. You won't regret it.
