Stellar Reach is getting a major boost with its biggest update to date, introducing an all-new playable faction as well as a limited-time discount during the Steam Winter Sale. Indie developer Stelleas continues to develop the core of the game, providing ongoing post-launch support, releasing ten updates since release. These patches focused on significant UI improvements, balance tweaks, and bug fixes, all shaped directly by community feedback. This latest update marks a major milestone, adding the first post-launch faction, a new ship class, and several gameplay improvements.
Stellar Reach is a 4X strategy game set in a fully 3D galactic space. Players explore uncharted systems, expand their influence, exploit valuable resources, and destroy rival powers to ensure victory. The game supports multiple paths to success, allowing players to achieve military dominance, economic growth, or technological advancement depending on their preferred strategy and the changing state of the galaxy.
The new Shipbuilders faction focuses its identity on capital ships and advanced fleet logistics. Its distinguishing feature is the auxiliary ships, a new type of ship that functions as a mobile space station. Players can take these ships into planetary orbit to build ships right on the front lines, reducing dependence on traditional manufacturing centers. In battle, the faction receives additional advantages. Shipbuilder Bombers deal increased damage to enemy ships, and their Bomber Ships can score critical hits from any line of the formation, offering flexible and powerful tactical capabilities.
