The White House praised the State Department for imposing sanctions on foreign nationals who issued controversial statements following the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk in September.
The White House said the State Department's decision to revoke the visas for these foreign nationals protects Americans.
“President Trump has long been paying attention to the spread of leftist political violence“The Trump Administration is ensuring that so-called ‘visitors’ to our country do not repeat this dangerous practice of celebrating and encouraging left-wing political attacks that poses a threat to the national security of law-abiding Americans.”
On Tuesday, the State Department announced it had revoked the visas of six unidentified people for their comments following Kirk's killing.
CHARLIE KIRK DRAWN 'Controversial' and 'provocative' in media coverage of murder
“The United States is not obligated to accept foreigners who wish death upon Americans,” the State Department wrote on Tuesday. “The State Department continues to identify visa holders who celebrated the heinous murder of Charlie Kirk.”

Specifically, the State Department said those whose visas were revoked included a German citizen who said that “when fascists die, Democrats don't complain” and a Paraguayan citizen who said that “Charlie Kirk was the son of a bastard, and he died on his own terms.”
Additionally, the State Department said it had revoked the visa of a Mexican citizen who said Kirk “died as a racist” and that “there are people who deserve to die. There are people whose death will make the world a better place.”
The State Department also said it had revoked the visas of foreign nationals from Argentina, South Africa and Brazil.
The agency has made clear there will be consequences for visa holders who ridiculed Kirk's death on social media and said in September it would take “appropriate action” in response to such posts.
Critics of the State Department's move noted that Kirk himself was a proponent of free speech.
“The US is revoking the visas of six foreigners for making mocking posthumous comments about Charlie Kirk, who, ironically, was a self-proclaimed champion of free speech!” David Axelrod, who was an adviser to former President Barack Obama, said on the X website Tuesday.

Meanwhile the President Donald Trump criticized “far-left radicals” for embodying the “ideology of the devil” amid political violence in the United States
“We have watched legions of radicals on the far left resort to desperate acts of violence and terror because they know their ideas and arguments are not convincing,” Trump said Tuesday at the White House. “They know they are failing. They have a diabolical ideology and they are failing.”
In particular, Trump pointed to recent violence at Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facilities, as well as inflammatory text messages recently discovered from Virginia attorney general candidate Jay Jones that described a hypothetical scenario in which he would shoot a Republican lawmaker in the head.
