Cozy farm life awaits on Star Sands Island
Starsand Island will bring its gentle life and farming experience to Nintendo Switch 2 in early 2026. Chinese studio Seed Lab has confirmed that the anime-themed adventure will arrive on the platform alongside previously announced releases for PC, Xbox Series X and S, and PlayStation 5.
The developers are preparing a version for Nintendo Switch 2 to make the most of the new hardware. Players will have a quality mode that delivers 45 frames per second at 1080p resolution, and a performance mode that delivers 60 frames per second at the same resolution. Both options work in both stationary and portable modes. The game will also feature in-game chat for online sessions and mouse control support.

Star Sand Island follows a character who leaves behind a demanding city life and returns to the quiet island where their childhood began. The journey focuses on restoration, reflection and rediscovery of simple daily routines. Players can grow crops, care for animals, fish on the shore, explore ancient ruins and meet colorful and memorable inhabitants.
Creative director Richardo Wang said: “Bringing Starsand Island to Nintendo Switch 2 has been a long-time goal for us; the life simulation genre is a natural fit on Nintendo consoles. Even before it was announced nearly a year ago, we knew—and wanted—our game to be on Nintendo's next-gen platform. Starsand Island transports players to a simple, bucolic life, and we believe it should be accessible whether they're at home, commuting to or from work, or on vacation.”
