The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Stardew Valley was released out of the blue over the holidays, and the game's creator is urging players to avoid crafting certain recipes right now.
After Switch 2 release announcement in September and subsequent radio silence since thenStardew Valley Nintendo Switch 2 Edition was released out of the blue on Christmas Day, giving players the chance to experience the realistic graphics and incredible frame rates that the Switch 2 has to offer… or rather, it added mouse control and split-screen for up to four players.
If you are currently playing the NS2 version, please be aware that crafting any of the recipes below may result in consuming unexpected items in your inventory. If you do need to craft them, clear your inventory of everything except the required ingredients and don't use the workbench pic.twitter.com/X6zsLePj5S.December 30, 2025
It warns players about a list of recipes that can cause this error, and urges that if you do need to craft any of them, empty your inventory and don't use the crafting table, otherwise you risk losing some items on your person – even if they're not used for the recipe. “Apparently, the problem is in ns1,” he adds. “That will be fixed too.”
Barone doesn't give an exact time frame for when these fixes will be implemented other than “soon,” so there's no telling how long it will be before EU players get a chance to experience mouse controls (other than those on PC, obviously), but hopefully it shouldn't be too long.
