Star Wars is going back to its most iconic game series, leak suggests – Destructoid

Star wars is one of those universes that is perfect for video games. And, of course, there were many great people. But few of them were as good as Knights of the Old Republic titles, and it looks like we're about to get more of them.

On December 3, authoritative informant Kourakasis announced a “big” Star wars the game was about to be announced, which most likely meant a world premiere at The Game Awards. At that time no one knew what this big game was, but Kourakasis traced yesterdayon December 6, stating that the game's title “ends with 'Old Republic.'”

This is huge news. Whatever it turns out to be, it's a return to one of the Star warsthe most successful and most iconic sub-franchise, spawning revolutionary single-player role-playing games and a great MMO that is still around today.

Some fans are concerned that this is just more news about Knights of the Old Republic a remake that's been in limbo for years, but I don't think this will be an “announcement” given that we already have it and know it's coming.

This could be the third Knights of the Old Republic a game based on the hype surrounding the Wizards of the Coast role-playing games, fueled in large part by the huge success Baldur's Gate 3. KOTOR itself retains a large fan base to this day, with many considering it one of Bioware's best series, coming from an era when Bioware was still making great games.

Thus, there is great potential for creating a game set in Old Republicespecially if it's part of an established KOTOR row. Of course, it may turn out to be nothing special and perhaps tied to existing products, but I'm still hoping for something noteworthy.
