Splash Damage has begun a studio-wide consultation process that will lead to layoffs.
A British company known for its work on Passing tactics And Halo: The Master Chief Collectionwas recently acquired by a group of unnamed private investors (thank you, GI.biz). It was previously owned by the Chinese conglomerate Tencent.
In a post on LinkedInThe studio has confirmed that the consultation process will cover all roles.
“This step has been difficult for us to take, but we believe it is necessary to ensure Splash Damage can remain flexible and adaptable in a very challenging market,” the statement said.
“We know that this type of change is emotionally difficult, and we will do everything we can to guide our people through this process with integrity and care. We are committed to exploring all options to retain talent and ensure that those affected have meaningful support throughout the process.”
As noted on the UK government website, UK workers have the right to consult with their employer if they are facing redundancy. This process allows injured workers to ask why they are being terminated and whether there is an alternative course of action.
“If your employer is making up to 19 people redundant, there are no rules about how they must consult. If he reduces 20 or more cases at the same time, the collective reduction rules apply.” the explainer reads.
