There's another one Sonic the Hedgehog An additional film is on the way, and Paramount promises an expansion of the Sonic “universe”. While we don't know what the story will be or what characters it will feature, we do know that it will release in Winter 2028 (via Deadline).
Sonic The Hedgehog has become one of the most popular and successful film and television franchises based on video games, as well as one of the biggest film series of the last few years. The venerable video game icon has three films with a combined box office gross of $1.2 billion worldwide. It also has a spin-off streaming series starring Knuckles the Echidna (voiced by Idris Elba), which itself became the most-watched children's and family program on Paramount Plus in its first month of release in terms of hours watched.
As almost everyone knows, Sonic (voiced by Ben Schwartz in the films) is the super-fast star of a video game series that began in 1991, much of which centers on the eponymous hero racing through challenging environments at breakneck speed in pursuit of the villainous Doctor Eggman (Jim Carrey).
There are dozens of games in the game. Sega-produced series, which has been replenished with a whole cast of Hedgehog allies, robot villains and other heroes, creatures and even clones, almost any of which can appear in the new spin-off. There are even other, deeper aspects of Sonic's history from comics, cartoons, and other adaptations.
