A number of Bell customers say the carrier has once again raised the cost of their internet plan.
On RedditUser Johan08191970 reported that he was being charged extra for December, his fifth increase this year. According to the user, they were charged $105 per month before taxes in January (it's unclear what they were paying previously), and additional increases occurred in May ($109), June ($121.87), July ($128) and now December ($132).
MobileSyrup reached out to Bell about the reported price increase, and the company noted that it would raise prices in Ontario and Quebec next year “due to rising operating costs and market developments.” Below is Bell's full statement:
“Since 2020, Bell has invested more than $24 billion to build Canada's fastest networks at competitive prices. Due to rising operating costs and an evolving market, monthly rates for Bell Internet, TV and home phone services will increase in Quebec in February 2026, and monthly Bell Internet rates will increase in Ontario in March 2026. All affected customers will receive 60 days advance notice.
“We value our customers and are committed to providing them with flexible options. Our plans, packages and promotions range from premium offerings to affordable packages designed to meet the needs of different customers.”
Redditor Johan08191970 wasn't the only customer to say his score had increased. Another user, Fun-Replacement-3692, said he understood the sentiment of the original poster, noting that they had a multiple price increase on the Bell package, which includes a phone (10GB of data), Fibe 50 internet, and a Fibe TV Good package with Crave and Starz. This user says he paid $240.55 in January, then $243.12 in February, $247.53 in March, $251.93 in June and $254.50 in December.
Commenter Successful-Spray6276 didn't give an exact timeline, but mentioned that “a couple of years ago” they were paying $99 a month for Fibe Internet and TV, and now they're paying $189 for Internet only. Responding to this comment, user Scoobysnax1976 reported that after two years, their $115 monthly fee for internet, home phone and basic Fibe TV had jumped to $185, while their own Bell plan had gone up $25-$30 in just over a year. Both users said they contacted Bell to protest but did not receive a better deal.
However, some other users reported no increase this year. In fact, u/elyk_fall_down said that since the beginning of the year they have received price reductions and increased internet speeds; The latest bill for December is $130 for 3G Internet versus $135 for 1G Internet in January.
MobileSyrup tracked several Bell price increases this year, including Internet and television growth in Januaryanother rising internet prices May, ah increase in prices for mobile communications in JuneAnd another TV trip in November.
Oddly enough, MobileSyrup editor-in-chief John Lamont canceled its Bell Internet in June 2025. after repeated price increases in 2024 and 2025.
Obviously, your mileage will vary, but in any case, it's always a good idea to carefully check your bill each month to make sure there are no hidden increases. And if your ISP is hitting you with price increases, it's always time to start shopping for a new ISP.
