Film adaptation Sleeping dogs Not only is it back on track, but the first draft of the script is “ready.”
That's according to Marvel star Simu Liu, who tweeted last night that the Sleeping Dogs script had been completed and celebrated with a photo of his own sleeping dog. Oh.
Film adaptation of “Sleeping Dogs” was reportedly mothballed back in Januarywhen Star Wars actor Donnie Yen said he “spent a lot of time and even invested some [his] own money” only for the project to stall. Just a few weeks later, everything seemed to be back to normal. with Liu revealing his involvement.
When asked if he had “settled things” with the publisher and intellectual property owner Enix SquareLiu said commentator: “They're just great, it's [Hollywood] studios that don't seem to understand how important this IP is, BUT we will get them there.”

Liu has been tight-lipped about who wrote the story and hasn't revealed who else was involved in the film, but it will still be good news for fans of the cult classic.
Yen confirmed that the film was in development in February 2018.but we heard little about the production until he confirmed the cancellation earlier this year.
Released in August 2012, Square Enix's Hong Kong open-world game Sleeping Dogs was an enjoyable mix of martial arts and mafia drama. Developer United Front Games tried to launch a sequel and then a multiplayer sequel to Triad Wars before shutting it down in 2016.
