Six months after announcing Marathon's indefinite delay, in response to “passionate” feedback from the community, Bungie has announced its live service shooter, revealing a release window and price, confirming it will launch on PlayStation 5 and PC in March next year, priced at £35.

Since then, there has been little concrete news about Marathon's progress, although Sony CFO Lin Tao did. link to last month's titleshowing that its release is still scheduled for the company's current fiscal year. And now Bungie has narrowed it down even moreconfirming that the shooter will be released in March 2026. It will also cost £34.99/$39.99/€39.99 – the same price as the Sony. Marathon's release confirmation was accompanied by a new 20-minute gameplay reviewand Bungie revealed a number of improvements made since April's divisive playtest. These include improvements to visual fidelity, contactless chat, solo runner queue, and a “solo scavenger experience” called Rook.
“Whether you were with us in April for our first alpha or are just joining us now,” Bungie wrote on the PlayStation Blog, “a rich world full of lore and loot opens up before you as your cybernetic biosynthetic shell takes its first steps into our new world.”
