Sigourney Weaver and Jason Isaacs cast in Amazon’s Tomb Raider series

Hollywood stars Sigourney Weaver and Jason Isaacs will star in Amazon's upcoming Tomb Raider adaptation.

In an advertisement published on RedditPrime Video reported that Isaacs will play Lara Croft's uncle Atlas DeMornay, while Weaver will play a new role in the Tomb Raider universe.

Weaver's character Evelyn Wallis is described as “a mysterious, ambitious woman eager to exploit Lara's talents.”

Weaver and Isaacs join Sophie Turner. who landed the role of Lara last September.

Other returning characters from the video game franchise include Zip (Martin Bobb-Semple) and Winston (Bill Paterson).

Celia Imrie, Jack Bannon, John Heffernan, Paterson Joseph, Sasha Luss, Juliet Motamed and August Wittgenstein will also star as new characters.

“Tomb Raider boasts many iconic characters,” said series showrunner Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

“I’m thrilled to be able to bring some beloved characters and fan favorites to the screen, while also adding some new villains to the mix. This cast is beyond my wildest dreams.”

Amazon's Tomb Raider adaptation is helmed by Waller-Bridge and Wayward Pines creator Chad Hodge, with production set to begin on January 19, 2026.

The series was green light from Amazon MGM Studios back in May 2024.
