Save the world in Shrine's Legacy
Positive concept games and indie.io Shrine's Legacy launched today on PC via Steam and Steam Deck. The game promises to deliver a 16-bit fantasy RPG inspired by the SNES era classics.
In a world threatened by darkness, the Dark Lord Aklor has returned after centuries of imprisonment, reclaiming Ardemia as his own. Only Rio, heir to the legendary Sword of the Temple, holds the key to stopping him. But first he must find a magical weapon. Next to Reima is a magician of extraordinary power. Together, they must assemble eight disparate elements to discover the only power that can defeat Aklor once and for all.
Players explore a vast, immersive world full of secrets, hidden treasures, and echoes of stories created through conflict. Their journey will take them through dangerous dungeons, across devastated fields and into cities ravaged by the forces of the Dark Lord. Along the way, they meet unforgettable allies and confront the deep scars left by the spread of darkness. The game combines emotional storytelling with fast-paced, real-time combat, allowing players to seamlessly switch between Rio's swordplay and Reima's sorcery. Fans can also experience the adventure in local or online co-op, solving challenging puzzles and defeating powerful opponents by combining the pair's unique abilities.
An intuitive progression system improves both heroes, unlocking new skills and spells as they progress. Creative director Alan Gabbard emphasized the importance of true cooperative gameplay, taking inspiration from classic Mana games to allow friends to seamlessly share experiences, whether side-by-side or online.
Shrine's Legacy is now available on PC and Steam Deck for $19.99 with full English language support, challenging players to test their mettle, strengthen their bonds, and take part in the ultimate quest to save Ardemia from certain doom.
