Look at the shadow of the road
Publisher Owlcat Games and developer Another Angle Games have unveiled a new gameplay trailer for their upcoming turn-based cRPG. Road shadowduring the Galaxies Gaming Showcase in fall 2025. The trailer offers a deeper look into the game's stunning Japanese steampunk world, set at a moment of transformation as tradition and progress collide under the weight of civil war.
Shadow of the Road is set in feudal Japan, a land divided by conflict between the Tokugawa Shogunate and Emperor Mutsuhito. Set in this war-torn setting, the game combines Japanese mythology with steampunk-inspired mechanics to create a striking visual and narrative experience. Players will lead a group of adventurers through a changing world where every choice has long-term consequences, testing their skills in tactical turn-based combat and exploring the tension between loyalty, honor and survival.
Each character has unique abilities that can change the outcome of battles and influence the course of the war as a whole. Mastering ancient powers or adapting to modern technology, players will forge their way through a story that combines the elegance of old traditions with the desire for industrial progress.
A free demo of Shadow of the Road is now available for Windows PC via Steam, giving players an early look at its atmospheric design and strategic gameplay. Those interested can also add the game to their Steam wishlist to stay updated on future announcements and its possible release.
