Sen. Elissa Slotkin receives bomb threat after urging military to ‘refuse illegal orders’

Michigan State Police responded to a bomb threat at the home of Sen. Elissa Slotkin, D-Mich., a spokesman for her office said in a statement Friday. The threat came after President Donald Trump accused her and other Democratic lawmakers of “seditious behavior” that is “punishable by death.”

IN application sent by X, A spokesman for Slotkin's office said the senator “was not home at the time” and that Michigan State Police “searched the property and confirmed that no one was in danger.”

Slotkin's office and Michigan State Police did not immediately respond to requests for details of the incident.

The bomb threat came after Slotkin, who formerly worked for the CIA, and several other Democratic lawmakers, including former military personnel, posted a video this week called on military and intelligence officers to “refuse unlawful orders” from the Trump administration.

Trump reacted to the video on Thursday call for arrest Slotkin and others for “seditious behavior,” which, in his words, is “punishable by death.”

Slotkin also responded to Trump's comments during an interview with MS NOW on Thursday, saying: “The climate of leadership is set from the top, and if the president says you should be hanged, then we shouldn't be surprised when people on the ground are going to follow his lead and say worse.”

Bomb threat appeared at Slotkin's residence after Indiana State Senator Greg Good swatting incident victim on Sunday.
