Family honors father at private Texas service

Selena Quintanilla's The family gathered privately over the weekend in Texas to honor her father with a celebration of life… TMZ has learned.
Sources with first-hand knowledge tell TMZ… the invitation-only event Abraham Isaac Quintanilla Jr.. was limited to close relatives and friends, telephones were prohibited. We were told that there was no Abraham's tomb.
About 400 people attended the service, which featured Spanish-language singers, a video tribute highlighting the life of Abraham, and remarks and prayers from the preacher.
After the ceremony, guests joined the dinner and continued to remember Abraham. Our sources say the family intentionally kept the meeting secret, choosing Corpus Christi as the location because of its deep ties to the Quintanilla family.
As we reported…Abraham Quintanilla Jr. died December 13. His son AB Quintanilla IIIannounced the news on Instagram, writing, “It is with a heavy heart that I inform you guys that my father passed away today.”

The family has not disclosed the cause of death. As we reported… Abraham's body was taken to a funeral home and the medical examiner did not accept jurisdiction, meaning there was no investigation due to no evidence of trauma or foul play.
