Sec Duffy Does Some Heavy Lifting (Literally) to Make Air Travel Better – RedState

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy has done the hard work (literally) to make air travel better, announcing a billion dollars from the Department of Transportation (DOT) to make travel family-friendly again, before he put his money where his mouth is and took on MAHA's pull-up challenge.

During a press conference Monday at Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C., Duffy said the Trump administration is going to make airports healthier, family-friendly places, with things like mini-gyms, play areas and feeding pods, among other things.

“I'm announcing to the DOT that we have $1 billion in funding for grant programs to improve airport service,” Duffy told the press.

Later, in a post on X, the Transport Minister explained how some of this grant money could be used to improve conditions for travelers at airports.

“This is what we are announcing today on @USDOT To make travel more convenient for YOU: Now $1 BILLION awarded to airports to make them more FAMILY FRIENDLY!” Duffy wrote.

“From workout areas and playgrounds to healthy food options and places to read, we're making travel family-friendly again,” he added.

Eagle-eyed press viewers may have noticed the bar behind Duffy, who was joined by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who also spoke about making more healthy food options available at airports.

Two members of President Donald Trump's cabinet then took turns doing pull-ups to promote the idea of working out in airport gyms before boarding a plane.

It's funny that Duffy described his performance by saying that RFK Jr. from HHS is always catching up and they don't have time at DOT.

Duffy recently made headlines when he urged travelers to ditch their pajamas and dress nicer to make travel better for everyone.

“This is not about mandates. These are not requirements. This is a conversation about, can we offer healthier options?” He added when asked about it on Monday. “How do we make this experience where we're all traveling together a little better? That's what we're talking about. But I’m not pushing this down anyone’s throat… I’m not fining anyone if they wear pajamas on a plane.”

During Schumer's shutdown, Duffy did take on the daunting task of keeping operations running in the face of an outdated traffic control system and a shortage of air traffic controllers that led to cancellations and delays.
