Saskatchewan Roughriders release Canadian kicker Campbell Fair

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have released Canadian forward Campbell Fair, according to Canadian Football League transactions.

Fair, 25, signed with the Riders in late August. He made his Green and White debut in Week 18 and missed two extra points, including one wide of the goal right, in the team's 20-13 win in the nation's capital. Country comrade Brett Lauter returned in Week 19 and made all five field goals he attempted. Win over Toronto 27-19.

Fair attended training camp with the Edmonton Elks earlier this year but did not make the team's final roster. Oakville, Ontario. remained a free agent until the Roughriders came calling.

The six-foot, 180-pound kicker was originally selected in the sixth round, 51st overall, by the Calgary Stampeders in the 2023 CFL Draft. Later that year, he was on Saskatchewan's practice squad but did not play in the regular season. Fair was on Edmonton's 2024 training roster.

The University of Ottawa product has made 48 of 68 career field goal attempts (70.6 per cent) and completed 98 times, averaging 37.7 yards at the collegiate level. He was named a 2022 OUA Second Team All-Star.

Lauter and American newcomer Michael Hughes will remain with the Riders as kicker. Saskatchewan captured the Western Division regular season title and hosted the Western Final. on Saturday, November 8th.
