Christmas Eve is here, and as the holidays begin in earnest, it's time to come together and find joy in the simple things—and one of them is the constant question of… 'When is Is Santa coming?
Well, although this is one of those cases where it's great not to be glued to the screen (unless it's watching one of best christmas moviesOf course), there are some good Santa trackers that can help you find out where the jolly man in the red suit is and when is the best time to go to bed.
What is a Santa Claus tracker? The clue is in the name – it's either an app or just a website where you can see where he is in the world right now, and – depending on the platform – you can watch a live stream of what he's doing, play games, read news from his elves, or even listen to (and appear on) dedicated Christmas radio stations.
There are several apps for tracking Santa Claus, but I've been sharing the whereabouts of this gift-giving speedster for nearly a decade now, and these are the ones I'd recommend to get a better idea of his whereabouts—and find fun ways to count down the hours until he arrives at your door.
Although it is not the oldest tracker, it is one of the most popular and is the first place my kids and I visit. Partly because it launches so early in the Christmas period, but also because it has the best games to keep the whole family interested when the urge to start thinking about what Father Christmas might bring becomes too strong.
There's a cute video showing how Santa got ready this year (spoiler alert – he was late got up, apparently because his hat fell on his alarm clock, and then he didn't wake up until the very last minute!), and you can play a variety of mini-games, from simple ones that you play by tilting your device, to ones that help teach you the basics of programming using elf magic.
And, of course, the highlight is a map of where Santa is now – with photos and local guides to wherever he is, selfies on beaches and live updates on how many gifts he's delivered (proving just how magical he is, considering he manages about 12,000 per second) – it's a great place to start if you just want to know where he is.
(One thing that hasn't been fixed over the years: the website doesn't work as well on the iPad with games like Complete the battle not showing controls nor gumball fall allowing you to tilt your iPad).
Go to the official one Google Santa Tracker Website – he is already on his way and already traveling around the world.

NORAD—North American Aerospace Defense Command—began tracking Santa decades ago. It actually stemmed from a mistake made by a Colorado Springs newspaper on Christmas Eve in 1955. The hotline number for children to call Santa was misspelled by the newspaper, giving instead the number of NORAD's predecessor, the Continental Aerospace Defense Command (CONAD).
Suddenly finding themselves inundated with calls from excited children waiting to talk to Santa, call takers were kind enough to play along, enthusiastically providing updates on Santa's whereabouts on Christmas Eve. Typoing has become an annual tradition, and the advent of the Internet has opened up new possibilities for this service.
And you can still call 1-877-HI-NORAD on Christmas Eve to get the latest on Santa's whereabouts—there are plenty of wonderful people on the other end waiting for your call!
You can check the NORAD tracker online or through mobile applications for Android And iOS. It can also be accessed through your website.
