SanDisk has released a new USB flash drive Designed to expand your device's memory without sacrificing portability.
The SanDisk Extreme Fit USB-C Flash Drive is the world's smallest 1TB USB-C model, according to the company. It has a compact, low-profile design that allows it to be always connected to laptops or tablets, giving users an easy way to increase capacity without having to carry additional hardware.
It's also compatible with most laptops, tablets and other USB-C devices, offering immediate offline access to data without relying on cloud connections or network speeds.
Compact but functional
SanDisk said the device is designed for “professionals and students on the go,” and the new drive offers read speeds of up to 400 MB/s for models ranging from 128 GB to 1 TB and up to 300 MB/s for the 64 GB version – significantly faster than traditional drives. hard drives and close to the lower range portable solid state drives.
For users who frequently move documents, photos, or videos, this level of performance helps bridge the gap between portable storage and built-in storage.
“Today's professionals and students are constantly on the move, carrying thin laptops and tablets from home to the office, to meetings or classes. They want storage that's easy to access and always ready,” said Christina Garza, director of global brand management at Sandisk.
SanDisk says the device can withstand everyday use while remaining plugged in, but this design may raise questions about durability and heat buildup.
Small flash drives generally don't handle long workloads well, and it remains to be seen whether the Extreme Fit can maintain its performance over time.
The drive works with the SanDisk Memory Zone app, which allows users to manage, backup and restore files on Windows and Mac.
The SanDisk Extreme Fit USB-C Flash Drive is currently available in capacities ranging from 64GB to 1TB.
The 64GB model costs $14.99, followed by the 128GB version at $17.99, 256GB at $27.99, 512GB at $54.99, and the top-tier 1TB model at $109.99.
