Samsung reveals ‘G’ style tri-fold phone

Samsung is really on a roll this year with incredibly thin devices. Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, Galaxy Z-fold 7 And Galaxy XR headset. Of course, the company is ending the year with a bang, unveiling its long-rumored triple smartphone.

The South Korean company demonstrated this during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit currently taking place in Korea. However, just like with the Galaxy S25 Edge and XR announcements earlier this year, Samsung didn't let anyone touch the tri-fold and it remained in a glass body.

At the event, Samsung demonstrated the tri-fold unfolded and folded, and also used animation to show how the device folds. The animation shows that the phone folds inward, rather than folding like an accordion like the Huawei Mate XT.

The trifold does not have an official name and, oddly enough, not even a code name. However, this could potentially be due to the fact that this is not the device that will make it to market.

“The recent demonstration reflects ongoing research and development efforts, and we plan to introduce this next-generation device to users within this year,” said an unnamed company spokesperson. SamMobile in the statement.

I think foldables are still gaining popularity in some parts of the world, including Canada. The tri-fold device can be overwhelming for consumers.

However, I want one for myself. 😈
