What's happening? Samsung reportedly going to use new proprietary Exynos 2600 chip V upcoming Galaxy S26 And S26 Plusbut only in select markets and not worldwide.
- According to IT Home pageThe Exynos 2600 is reportedly only planned for the Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus devices sold in Korea.
- US buyers are expected to get the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, continuing Samsung's tradition of using Qualcomm chips in major markets.
Samsung is trying to restore confidence in Exynos
Analysts say Exynos still has a reputation for overheating, inconsistent performance, poor performance and past security flaws that have pushed many buyers to favor Snapdragon models. However, Samsung seems to be resisting patches such as:
- New Heat Pass Block cooling layer, which is essentially a built-in heatsink inside the chip package that helps reduce temperatures by as much as 30%.
- Improved manufacturing on the 2nm process, which is reported to increase yield by up to approximately 50%, which is a significant improvement over the 3nm process.
- Samsung also continues to use FOWLP (Fan-Out Wafer Level Packaging) to optimize performance.
Why is Exynos 2600 only available in Korea?

Even with Growing confidence in Exynos 2600Samsung's wider adoption may be limited by business agreements rather than technical restrictions. Samsung is believed to have entered into a long-term agreement with Qualcomm.requiring Snapdragon chips to power 75% of the Galaxy S series phones. This leaves little room for Samsung to rely on its own processor. Because of this, the new chip is mainly shipped to Korea, while most buyers around the world end up purchasing the Qualcomm version.
Okay, what's next?
Previously, rumors hinted at a possible delay to run Galaxy S26, but new reports now indicate that the composition will appear at the end of January 2026. Samsung Galaxy S26 lineup finally appears, most buyers will not choose between chips at all, since the decision will already be made for them.
